So the day has gone well so far. I am having some trouble finding 2 books to read for English. They have to be by American Authors and have to be related by author or genre. If you have any suggestions post them up here. I started Ordinary People by Judith Guest, and so far it is a really good book. If i read another one to go with it - i may read The Catcher in the Rye, but i dont really know what thats about. I looked i up on amazon.com and it looks pretty good. Any way - if any one has any suggestions just post it up or email me.
If you didn't know - I love to read - and not just poems either. I have read almost every type of book out there and i am always willing to read something new-though i may not finish it as some of my friends might know. My favorite type of books would definetly have to be Fantasy. and good fantasy too... when it comes to those type of books i can get really picky!
Thanks for taking the time to check out my site and read about my boring life-
Katie
Poem of the Day
Your Arms
|
|
|
| |
Your arms always wrap arond me
Your arms always protect me
You arms are what keeps me sane
You arms are what remind me
I'm perfect to you still
The clothes I wear
And the music I listen to don't define me
And you understand that still
It wouldn't matter how sad or ugly I got
I know you arms would still wrap around me,
Ever tightly still
Because of this I know that:
Your arms will always wrap around me
Your arms will always protect me
Your arms will keep me sane
Your arms will always remind me
I'm perfect to you still

Future and making a difference
For once, I may actaully get some sleep tonight. Now that I am done with that stupid Huck Finn book, I know longer have to worry about reading ten chapters at a time and doing that stupid study guide. And so, I only have a little homework which wont take me to long to do.
Right now I just got home from play practice and i am just hanging out, doing my homework early so that i can get to bed before 10 hopefully. Lately i haven't been in bed before 12 and i think that if i keep going to bed so late i might get sick or just totally worn out.
Due to my last score on my AP Bio test, I am determined to do really well on the next one, so I brought my Bio home and i may actaully take it out and work on it. We will see...
So not many people have been guessing my WHAT IS IT? Even if you have no clue or you think you know but your guess just sounds so weird... guess anyway you can't lose either way. I am willing to give hints - but you will have to ask nicely.
I dont have much else to say. My life seems pretty good right now... busy, but good.
When ever I just want to think or write something -- I some how always wind up thinking about my future. What do I want to be? Where do I want to go to college? Where do I want to live? So many things that I don't know seem so uncertain to me and I kind of feel lost. High School is fun, but whats after that? It is getting to that time where i have to make decisions and not just any decision like-what do i want to eat? but a decision that will affect the rest of my life... Money is an issue, working, living its all just one big mass of responsiblity that i feel i am not ready for.
Anyway that is something that i always feel is on my mind....
Thanks
Katie
Poem of the Day
I really like this poem:
Know That I Am Only One Person
|
I know that I am only one person
But I can make a difference
People will try to push you aside
And bring about hinderance
That is when you take control
And rise above all matters
Then you will show them how strong-hearted you are
And that way, your world would not be shattered

So far today has been pretty good. I got up and taught sunday school, which is usually not bad, today it went pretty well. We just got a new pastor at my church, he seems like a pretty good guy, and I feel so bad cause i am really tired and end up falling asleep during the sermon and then waking up and then drifting off again. I should really get some sleep on Saturday nights, cause I am trying really hard to stay awake and i really do want to hear what he is going to say.
Anyway, now it is around noon and The homework is going to be taken out soon cause there sure is alot of it. In all my classes except band and chem I have homework.... and quite a lot of it.
So today is a dedicated homework day and tomarrow is school once agian---this weekend is definetly not long enough!!! Next weekend should be better with a 5 day weekend!! I will fianlly get some sleep!!
Life isn't too bad - In fact it is pretty good!
Thanks

In life I lose my way, no flashlight will do
The darkness engulfs me, I’m caged in a zoo
No one to help, no one to call
I am locked right between the walls
No one cares, no one hears
I sit there crying out all my tears
Life is short, make it the best
Or waste it like all of the rest
Love is a tranquilizer, to some of the pain
Love can be good, or evil like cane
My life is like, that fork in the road
I don’t know which way, to my humble abode
If I continue to walk, in a direct way
I may figure out, where I’m going one day.

The days keep going by
Time waits on no one
I stop and wonder why
While I am looking at the sun
People continue to suffer each day
That is so bad, unfortunately
Things are standing in their way
Living in a state of uncertainty

I love to watch the stars
Today was a great day. It was an early morning and a long day- but one of the best!
My awards thing went great, and my I got into my arm appointment early so that I was back to school in time to catch lunch and the bus. The bus... it was a very nice ride... one of the best in fact. The game was good- except that we lost... that sucks! If we would have won we would have had another great day tomarrow, but now, we have class and tests that I neglected. So I really should have studied for them the other night, but tonight is as good night as any. It is going to be a late night tonight for sure though, which sucks. And first hour is my Pre-calc test-----NOOO! I dont know how i am going to get through it, but i sure will try.
Other than that things are good. Tomarrow will be a calmer day, but probably not as fun as today... it feels so much like a weekend... but its only Wed. It sucks!! But I will live.
Tomarrow is a new day!
Thanks,
Katie
And dont forget to check out WHAT IS IT #3? Be the first one to get it right and you will win a prize!!

Stars
|
How countlessly they congregate
O'er our tumultuous snow,
Which flows in shapes as tall as trees
When wintry winds do blow!--
As if with keenness for our fate,
Our faltering few steps on
To white rest, and a place of rest
Invisible at dawn,--
And yet with neither love nor hate,
Those stars like some snow-white
Minerva's snow-white marble eyes
Without the gift of sight.

So today went by slow and i am pretty sure it is because i can't wait till tomarrow.... I am still waiting for it to be tomarrow! For me tomarrow is going to be one of the busiest days so far this year for me, and thats saying alot, because I have had some pretty busy days!
This would be my schedual for tomarrow for me:
I have an early morning with going to this recognition breakfast for the eassy i wrote. This breakfast is at 7:00 in the morning! Its early but they will be awarding me my savings bond and a medallion of some sort or something. It will the begining to a hopefully great day!
After that I have a therapy appointment for my arm at 10:00 and that is supposed to last an hour! We may have to cut my apointment short, so that i will be able to make it to the school and hitch a ride on the bus to go the game!
It is going to be one busy, awsome day!
The game is going to be one of the best parts of the whole thing! and then if we win! Another day of fun!! plus i really dont have to worry about doing school work!! Except the Pre-calc test i am supposed to have on thursday and then the AP Bio essay on thursday and then the AP Bio test on Friday... thats not much fun... but i really don't have to worry about those now!
So everything is pretty great!
Thanks,
Katie

Happiness
| |
Happiness is the smile that appears when your love walks through the door
It's the fact that everyday you love her even more
Happiness is smiling when nothing goes your way
Happiness is family when you've had a tired day
Where do you find happiness do you look up or down?
You find it in the mirror at the absence of a frown
Happiness can be described in so many different ways
So let's just hope when it finally comes it will never go away

I missed a day! i can't believe it ... i feel bad and at the same time i don't. One day is not that big of deal as long as it does not go on.
So today is pretty good, besides it being a monday that is. Wed. is only a couple of days away- yet it seems so far. I am looking forward to it so much... It is going to be a busy day, but a fun one!
So i am going to post another What is it? if I ever get time... it is really hard to get on the internet sometimes.
Thanks
Katie

A poem for those who look for the bad...But there is good if you look hard enough

Just when you thought it was possible
You were impossible
Those times you craved
You will always crave
Those wishes you have made
You will always make
You were so sure
But your let-down couldn't have been more unsure
Everytime you have tried
You have failed
You expected it all
But didn't want to expect it
After all, it only figured
Figured you could never be in your wrong mind
But you were right
The glass it always half empty
That is...if there is anything in the glass at all

Sweet Dreams and Happy Memories
Today we are going to celebrate my birthday, since my dad was in texas over my birthday--so that is going to be lots of fun. Though it is Saturday morning- I did not get to sleep in. After getting used to waking up early during the week, it is kind of hard to wake up late for me, especially since i went to bed earlier than usual too.
But things are really cool!
I got a part in the play. I think that it is a pretty big part, but i am not quite sure. I get to be an older laddy- and i am Katie j.'s mom! I think that it will be alot of fun and i ma looking forward to it!
Tomarrow we have a drumline show at Apollo - I hope that it goes well. The drumline is doing pretty well this year and we are having a pretty good time.
I hope that all it going well for you as it is for me,
Katie

Sweet Dreams And Happy Memories

|

Sweet dreams and happy memories,
A love that's good and true;
A home to care for tenderly;
A song to sing that's new
Sweet dreams and happy memories
And friends to join in mirth
Some tears to give to those who die,
And smiles to greet each birth.
Sweet dreams and happy memories,
To win a game or two.
The faith to know that Spring will come,
The strength to wait it through.
Sweet dreams and happy memories,
To do what there's to do
For joy is living day to day,
To make sweet dreams come true.

How it moves us all
Like the oceans throw
Moving us all forward
Towards endeavor and oblivion
Breathing in the images
Unstoppable
Undeniable
We sit and stare for eternity
Bending our minds
Taking our perception
Leaving us without depth
Or compassion to bare
Desensitized...
Demoralized...
Bonafide...
Zombified

I try so hard to make things perfect and no matter how much i strive for perfection, my human nature screws something up and life is no longer the way it was.

and check out my book club at www.booksrcool.blogdrive.com What is it? Through generations and generations it lives on. Time has weathered it, yet it is its best friend. Though it weeps and pines for attention it lives content on it’s own. It makes the children laugh and the old cry with fond memory, yet it lives to make a difference in people’s lives. Through the generations it does change. From birth to death it changes constantly on an environmental clock that takes it through the fresh smell of spring, to the cold loneliness of winter. It’s a home for the homeless that roam free throughout the land. At it’s death it may still be used to house those that cannot live so off the land. The creation that it was, will never be again, and the one that was there, is gone forever. Though others alike will come, there is no twin. What is it 2? As it comes alive, you think of the miracle and forget that this small beautiful creature not only gets life and breath but it will also go through the pains of living and the last breath of death. But at the moment all you see is the struggle for a first breath of something so small and so precious that you feel overwhelmed with love and affection. All you want to do is chase all the thought of pain and death from your mind, from your body, from the whole entire earth, until all you feel is this love. Shaking and moving, the life wants to spring from it, yet it’s contained in it’s jail, trying to break loose and become apart of the world like you or I. The funny thing is, it has been kept alive by the one thing that is trapping it. It’s a mystery. What’s inside? It’s like Christmas, you just want to rip it open and see what mystery God is hiding inside this gift to the Earth. The cycle that it is brought into will evolve and once again we will come across this point. And again we will wonder at the mystery and miracle of something so small compared to the world it lives in.
What is it 3?
It is the source of much life. Laying in wait for its food, it has the potential to be dangerous, yet without it, we would suffer. It's open-holed eyes stare out at us and, when there, its mouth gapes open, asking for the out put it so wishes to distribute. Sometimes we torture it - stuffing and gorging it until it cries out is hot, sparkling tears. And then, by our own stupidity, we regret it.
